We Design Timeless Interiors

Our Ethos at Saints at Sea is to create timeless sanctuaries that inspire and cultivate a slow living culture and celebrating daily living. Crafting spaces that embody humble luxury through natural materials and form, imbued with our sense of elegant minimalism, stillness, warmth, and timelessness.

Our humble philosophy lends us a design language that allows us to curate the space you inhabit, as it is intricately tied to your being. Natural materials, handmade processes, and sustainable ethics are values we carry in our work, resulting in a uniquely modern and raw aesthetic.

We strive to design solutions that make the eyes smile (aesthetically pleasing)  and the soul dance (emotionally resonant).

Saints at Sea is a multi-disciplinary design studio working out of our atelier in a little surf town in Ericeira, Portugal. Founded by creative director Petrina Reddy in 2014, joined by her band of misfit collaborators, the studio practices interior design. At our core, we create beach villas and hospitality design, along with handmade objects and garments to extend into our timeless sanctuaries we curate.

The mysticism of carving out spaces (interior design) we believe is found in our daily rituals and how we want to explore this world. When a space transforms into your sanctuary, it nurtures your spirit, ignites the imagination, welcomes light, and evokes rest. It conjures emotion and resonates with your daily living experience.

THE PRINCIPAL

Daily rituals breathe life, a sense of stillness, and humble luxury into my work. I moved to Ericeira, Portugal from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysiaa decade ago with the intention of living a slower pace of life by the ‘Sea’.

I grew up on the equator for most of my life and have explored as much of the world as I could in between. I have worked in London, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Singapore, and Thailand, and now Portugal. Designing Luxury Beach Villas, Hotels, Holiday Homes, Restaurants, Bars & Clubs. With 20 years of design practice in my treasure box, I continue to now enjoy it from an artistic perspective.

I practice design in all elements, my core being interior spaces. Living by the Atlantic has taught me to celebrate slower living.

THE STYLIST

Growing up in Lisbon, I find myself drawn towards melding the old world with the modern. Aesthetically I practise in my daily life the lightness of being through the raw essence of materials. I now focus on styling & conceptualise events for like minded brands. Such as Organii, Observador and more.

I have worked in the fashion industry and focused on fashion editorial work for more than a decade and was the fashion and lifestyle editor of the historic Portuguese fashion magazine, Máxima.

I co-founded Erva Moura Studio, a connector to a more honest way of living, through floral design, events, workshops and creative consultancy, a concept that uses wild and sustainable local plants, flowers and decorations to create beautiful moments or spaces.

I now focus on styling & conceptualise events for like minded brands and clients. Such as Caudalie, MAAT, Observador Lifestyle and more.

THE ANTHTOPOLOGIST

An island girl at heart, I spent the first 18 years of life blissfully surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, and coconut trees, where slow living and simple beauty was an unconscious mantra of my experience.

Curiosity of our human species and the many different types of societies that exist in our world led me to a university in California, where I left with a double major in Anthropology and Sociology. I also dabbled in the wonderful world of jewelry-making and gemstone studies while I was there.

Following my heart to Ericeira, Portugal, 23 years ago, I find myself surrounded by a different landscape, different sounds, and different tastes, but the same variations of ocean blue. The power of nature is what inspires me, the chit-chat of different languages enthrall me, and the continuation of slow living drives me.
